With your VISA Check Card, you now have the option to choose either “Debit” or “Credit.” Both options can be used at the checkout counter, used to make purchases on the internet, or to pay for a fill-up at the gas pump.

When you use your check card as a “Debit” to make a purchase, you may have the option to receive cash back. You now have the option to choose to withdraw the funds from your checking or savings account. When selecting “Debit,” you must use your PIN when you make purchases and when you receive cash-back.

When you choose “Credit” all you have to do is swipe, sign and go. When you choose “Credit,” the funds are drawn directly from your checking account. If you currently have a Power Checking Account, whenever you choose the “Credit” option you will receive a Cash Back Benefit on all of your Check Card purchases!

ATM Surcharges
Some banks are now charging a surcharge or convenience fee for the use of their machines. They must inform you of this and get your approval of the surcharge before you conduct your transaction.

This fee is collected and kept by the bank that owns the ATM. If you are charged a fee and wish to dispute it, you will need to take it up with the financial institution that owns the ATM that you used. If you are using your Alliance Federal Credit Union Credit Card, Check Card or ATM Card, you may use our ATM locations at any of our locations free of any surcharge.

How does it work?
A Gift Card looks and acts like a debit card. The front of the card displays the gift recipient’s name, the Visa logo, an individual account number, and an expiration date. The back includes a magnetic strip. But unlike a debit card, the Gift Card stores value: The dollar amount you prepay.

Gift recipients can use the card as many times as they like up to the amount of your gift or until the card expires. As the gift recipient uses the card, the amount of the purchase is automatically deducted from the card’s available balance. When the available balance is reduced to zero, the gift recipient can keep the card as a memento of your gift. If the card is lost or stolen with a balance remaining, the gift recipient can cancel the card and order a replacement.

•Your Gift Card will be for the amount you choose to load on the card plus a $3.00 fee.

2. Order Online. When you order your VISA Gift Card online, you have the option to emboss a special message on your Gift Card.
•The total cost is the amount you choose to give — from $25 to $500, plus a $5.95 shipping and handling charge ($7.95 for cards over $250) when you order online.
